Since our founding in 2019, Section Architects has delivered over 100 projects for life sciences, healthcare, and specialized manufacturing in Toronto, across the GTA, and throughout Eastern Canada. From renovations within active facilities to additions and new-builds, we are recognized for our technical expertise, collaborative approach to design, and our ability to deliver exceptional spaces at any scale.

From programming, feasibility studies, and master planning mandates, to full architectural design and implementation, and through commissioning and project close-out, we work collaboratively with our clients to lead projects, manage the design team, and deliver the project from concept to completion. For larger projects where laboratories or controlled environments form only a part of the overall facility programme, we often partner other Architects, Engineers and Developers who value our specialized knowledge. As Laboratory Architect, we work closely with the project lead to ensure that the laboratories are seamlessly integrated into the broader facility.

Across clinical, academic, research, and industrial sectors, our expertise includes wet and dry laboratories with varied ISO, CL, or BSL performance standards for discovery, testing, quality control, microbiology, tissue culture, drug production, and radioactive containment. On the manufacturing side, we are experienced with the design of complex GMP spaces for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) manufacturing, bulk solvent storage and containment, oral solid dosage testing and packaging, among others.
